!Rear seats
So I took out my rear seats awhile ago, and there is a section of carpet that doesnt cover the bracket for the seat. I was wondering what some people have done to cover up the bracket. suggestions would be great too. I'll try to get pics of it up tomorrow.

If you want to be real OG, you put the back seat floor mats over it 
I've been working on a rear-seat delete out of pressboard that hasn't gotten past the paper cut-out stage.

go to a junk yard and buy the hatch carpet out of a car and trim to fit. thats what i would do anyway

The carpet has a plastic kind of bonding/backing on it. If you warm it up a bit with a hair dryer you can stretch it a little to help cover the bumps. It doesn't stretch much, but it helps.
Oooooorrrrrrrrrrr............you can just cut the humps out of the car and save even more weight

6LE on tech makes a rear seat delete kit...

I got his C5 front brake kit for $500...
also, the overlays look good.

like for example, he wants $30 plus shipping for the center console gauge pod that I made myself for $2 and still have plenty of plastic left over to make more.

Heating the carpet up will not fix the 3" gap of carpet needed. And I dont want a seat delete kit, I took them out to reduce weight, not add something in their place.
Cutting the brackets out would look better, but then the seats could never go back in. Damn sacrifices.

Are the brackets spot welded in? If so, break out the spot weld cutter but be sure to scribe alignment marks if you ever need to put them back in.

There was a company that made rear seat delete boxes that made it look nice. They were on www.speedspecialty.com. I cant find them right now but if contact them they may still have them.

It doesnt look that bad. I actually think its more comfortable in the back without the seats (6'1). 35 lbs is a lot considering the other easy weight reductions.

The heating and stretching or the elimination of the mounting humps? Both have been done before
Once the humps are gone the carpet lays nice and flat in the area, just the seams from where it was cut to fit over before show a bit.
