township told me to get rid of my cars
i got 4 cars all lined up nice and pretty on my driveway.keeping it neat so no one complains.well it didn't work.township came over today and told me i got to register all my cars or get rid of them.i love my cars but since i lost my job i haven't been able to renew the registrations on them.so now they must go i had plans of taking the 6 speed out of my 93 and putting it into my monte SS,but now it looks like i'm going to do a quick strip of the Z and try to sell everything down at the swapmeet next week.i can't help it that i don't put all my money into snowglobes and have them all over my house.i'm a car guy,and yes when i had a job,i drove all of them.sorry,i just needed to vent a little.

If i wasn't already storing a car for someone I would offer a spot behind my fence for one of yours. The cops are only bothering you because your nieghbors are complaining. if all the cars are f-bodys the registration is like 50 bucks a piece so you are looking at like 200 bucks

dont people have better things to do than bitch about some car guy down the street?? If you can somehow come up with the money i'd register them then put them all up on jack stands and put the hoods up just to piss them off.
I have a similar situation with just one car so I kow where your coming from.

It's not always your neighbors. Sometimes the township reps themselves bust you.

In order to register them, you need insurance. So we are not talking about just $200.

It's like that in just about every town. My town is allowed 1 or 2 unregistered vehicles... I keep plates on everything and nobody bothers me.

If he can't afford registration why would he pay insurance? Home owners/renters will cover any of your property anyway.
If your vehicle has plates on it, they usually don't bother you. I never turn my plates in and have yet to get harassed by the DMV or my town.

No. Might pay for something stolen out of the car (say like tool or a radar detector). But not the car or any of its parts.

When you go to register a car you can make up a random insurance ID number and put whatever insurance company name you want on the form you fill out. I have done it two times already this year and have never had a problem in the past. I don't think the state has anyway of checking if the policy number you put down is legit. I have insurance on all my cars but I always forget to bring my insurance info to the DMV. It's bad enough waiting on line once let alone twice if you forget something.

My policy covers any of my vehicles at my house. 100% certain about that cause I've already filed claims about damages. None of my vehicles have collision. My driveway is surrounded by trees. They've paid for a tree branch that feel and smashed up a fender and bed.

I do this all the time, been doing it for years. 3 cars this past year already.
Its a problem when its reversed, if you have plates & insurance on a car, if you drop the insurance, the insurance co. notifies dmv and then dmv sends you a later to turn in plates.

I have never been asked to turn in my plates. No registration or insurance on at least half the cars at my house.
