GRM magazine Ultimate Track Car Challenge at VIR

sup guys - this event is invitation only. I was invited in 2007 but couldn't swing the logistics. 2008 event was on west coast so I didn't apply. But in '09 its back at VIR and I need some votes.
Here are the cars so far...look for my rex and vote 5 stars please

Voted and checked out the web pages. Quite a busy off season so far. So at what point will you gut the car? With the rear plastics gone, race seats there's no fooling anyone anymore so just do it.....

haha no clue dude. isn't that a common dilemma?
i can keep the rear plastics out because they aren't needed for some autocross classes. Not sure bro. just going with the flow

and thanks guys for the votes!! fingers crossed.

Why would he want the motor out of the firechicken? To pick up maybe 15-20hp? Seems like a lot of work for that small gain. Do a cam swap instead

haha you guys are funny my motor is pretty stout considering it has tiny puny baby cam. 400 hp at wheels and 410 tq ain't bad considering heads were ported at the end of 1998. Theres been quite a lot of progress in LS1 head porting technology since then.
It has stroker crank already (370 cubic inches) which helps the torque.
If i put newer heads and bigger cam and fast 90mm intake, i think 500 hp is doable without affecting drivability. But i ain't got coin for that nor the need. its already got 2MCHPWR I'd rather get some fender flares in the back and put on 12.5 inch wheels with 335's

If you put those flares on with the wing like that guy has you will need to make at least 500 horse at the wheel to get it rolling. I think he got that wing off a top fuel dragster. Nothing better than a stock looking car whooping on these type of cars.

How does having that much rear tire effect the turn in balance of the car? Seems like you would have to constantly trail brake the thing to get it to rotate in to center.
