Ok so I bought 11" grand sport replica rims for my camaro, (315's in the rear) and being the idiot, I didnt look into if theyd fit underthere without any need of work, and low and behold you gotta bang your inner fenders and stuff, btu what I wanna know is, what is the smallest spacer i can run without the rims and tires poking out of the rear there? i know i gotta bang the inner fenders in and grindthe jouncer a little, but i wanna be on the safe side and use a spacer as well. anybody know, cause I see 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, but i dont know which one to get, and Id like to have them on before I roll up to atco this friday, that is if theyre open anymore for the season, geeting awfully cold out now. thanx

I would suggest fitting the wheels with tires on the car first before you purchase any spacers. I have heard and read that not everyone has to do the BFH mod. If you bought the grand Sport Replicas they should be the 50+ offset which seams to fit best on the camaros. Also if your on a stock ride height you should be fine. I have 315 grand Sports on with an SLP Eibach Kit and I have no clearance issues. Only problem I have is they might rub if I have passangers in the back seats.

LOL, nice, well thats the other thing, I havent lowered it yet, but im wanting to, if my memory serves me right i think the V8 lowering height by eibach is like 15. 18 for front and rear, and for v6's theyre 1.0 drop. so hopefullyi wont hae any probs.

i dont know how different camaro's are than birds in this area but i had 11" wide zr1's on my old 93 T/A and they didnt rub at all on the inside however they would rub once in a while if i had 4 people in the car on the outer lip of the 1/4 panel... if i was alone they would not rub at all... i would fit them before you do anything... there gonna look awsome tho... i miss my zr1's i got these zo6's now im bored with em... hehe good luck

if you do get spacers, get the Baer spacers. they sell them at thunder racing. they are by far the best and dont make your car drive like crap

if i were you id just get the fender lips rolled and bfh the inners when you figure out where they're rubbing but like others say some have no clearence issues (especially with an adj pan hard bar)

I ran the 11's with 315 Sumitomo's on the back of my 96 SS and had no rubbing on the inner fender. You'll most likely need to trim the bumpstops so when the suspension is at full droop the inside of the wheel doesn't get damaged on the bumpstops. But it definitely depends on what 315 tire you go with. The Sumitomo's tend to run a little narrower than other brands so with those tires you probably won't rub. If you lower the car, then you stand the chance of needing to hammer the inner fender but I wouldn't worry about it until you fit the wheels/tires.

Ha! that's jsut what I bought, Sumi's. I bought a 1LE panhard bar, not an adjustable one yet since I twisted my last one. and the last time I had 4 people in my car, or over one passenger for that matter, was last year, I'm not ataxi lol, But I do have to grind the jouncers, adn SLP's got a 17" spacer kit for the jouncers, might that prevent my rubs on the outer lip? and Damn, my tires didnt come in today, better luck tomorrow, I've had these rims sitting in my room since October, and Im dying to out them on.

DAMN!!! they are huge, like yeah i have the rims, but you never see the full picture till the tires are on, Love the white, reminds me of the sweet 30th ann. Camaro's, and the sumi's tread looks sweet. How'd they handle for you, worth the $$ or next time should I get something a little more pricey?

I was happy with them for the money. But I don't think I put 2500 miles on them before I sold the car(so I could buy the 70 SS396). The guy who bought the car said he ran 13.31 at 104 at the track and the car only had longtube headers and some upgraded ignition stuff. He said they hooked pretty well. I do remember coming down the turnpike in some pretty heavy rain and I was doing 70-75 and they never started to hydroplane so they should be good for most driving conditions.

sumi's are decent in the dry condition, but when its wet they suck balls.

Well I just put them on last night, and all I gotta say is, if there is anything I should of gotten first for my car, it should of been these hands down. Tho I do have a light rub when I turn , its not biggy, I think a 7/16 spacer should fix that. I will say I did have a n idiot moment. I got special wheel weights that have micro graphite balls in it ( i got talked into them, but they seem to work pretty good) and when I took off for the first time I had a swooshing noise, and i t got worse as i sped up. I thought it was the weights and was ready to take it back when I all of a sudden slowely went away and then stopped. I was scared for a moment and realized what it was......the stickers on the tyres..... <--- retardation factor hit me good !!

Yeah, i know I gotta roll the fender lips, but i dunno if I wantt o hammer the inside and mess up the inner fender, and if I did, I heard its hard as hel to get it to move cause it is a reinforced area.

Check to see how close your rear is to being centered. Stick your fingers on the inside of the tire to see what the clearance is on each side. If one side is closer than the other then you might be able to get away with an adjustable panhard bar to center the rear better and not need any hammering. I got lucky and my car was centered perfect and I didn't need to do any hammering or fender lip rolling.

I guess my stock suspension is shot then...i bought the adj panhard bar, centered the rear and have rubbing on the inside and i'm cutting the crap outta my Nitto 315s

i guess i didn't do enough of the BFH mod and don't know how to roll the lips without doing damage to the 1/4 panels...

well thats what im worried about when beating the fender lips up, I dont want to make waves in the wells cause its a double layer area from what I can feel so its pretty strong, as well as the inner inner fender part. I thin kwhat I might do is cut relief cuts into the fender lip, and hammer them in, maybe take some of the stranght away from them, but im sick of hittin the lip, i already did twice, its like nails down a chalk board for me lol. What od you guys think, sound good wiht cutting the relief cuts?

dont do the fender lips yourself then, take it to a reputable body shop

Lol, too late, I did the lips myself, and I gotta say, it was a heck of alot easier the nI thought, I had to touch up on the paint, and i have a small slight dimple on the pasenger side, but, it looks pretty good, and doesn t rub when I turn or hit a bump. How do I test teh bump theory? find a bad bump and hit it a 70, not sound from the tires anymore lol.
