Who-Hey, if you are satisfied that the engine will be what you want then what are you doing on here? For that price for a 650hp nitrous ready 383 you should be running to cram your money in! Keep us updated on your project..

ok, then the rotating assembly is $1699.00

that leaves you $400 for tchain kit, gaskets, lifters, & blockwork...

I'm tellin ya dude you need to call him and go over this again with him. there is no way.
if he is discounting the parts than the parts can be $2100 and thats cost on the parts. that means he is making nothing on parts or labor.

call him tomorow get a written quote than come back to the board.

I know it doesn't come with lifters, rockers, cam, and all that other stuff. I just the block, and the bottom end with cam bearings installed and freeze plugs.

what yousay josh? a $1600 rotating assy, and $500 for the machine work? kind o cheap.

For that price, it's either not what he's saying it is, or used. $2100 is like a cheap rebuild to factory specs.

cnc-motorsports.com has some really nice rotating assembly kits for great prices. I paid like $1070 for mine... Scat 9000 crank, SRP forged flat tops, Scat 4340 I-beams with good bolts, H-series bearings, Total Seal plasma file-fit rings.

Almost 2 years strong with this assembly spraying the crap out of it on a regular basis.

I had my 383 built by Gil Davis Racing Engines in West Chester and it cost me $3800 for the short-block alone, and I supplied the pistons and rods.

For $2100, something is awry. Take it from the people who know something about it.

i am looking to pay $2100 for my rotating assembly. it is a callies compstar kit and should handle anything i can muster up. you should get a list of parts with #'s and post them up, something is not right.

I know, I'm just sayin'. Let me do some math here...

I already had a block that needed boring/honing with a plate, new cam bearings, all the other basic rebuild stuff along with balancing and assembly it cost me $980. So thats $2050 right there keeping in mind that the person I had assemble it is not that "big" so he doesn't charge as much as the "reputable" shops do around here... So if he can get a fully forged rotating assembly + a block + all the machining/assembly for only $50 more something is definitely weird.

The only way I can see a shop selling something like that for $2100 is if a customer brought them a bunch of parts, had them machine/assemble everything, and then never paid.

this,

or... its someones motor from this past season, getting "refreshed" and cleaned up and sold to fund a new build
