So your dad's friend offered to rebuild the trans for free, and you said no?

700r4-4l60e is the same trans exept the 4l60e is stronger and is computer controled.u could bolt one in ur car and hook up a toggle switch to lock up the converter in high gear while cruising.but im unsure if ur car would run right without the electronic transmission.im quessing u would just need a 700r4 with the electronic speedo pickup.but u would have to ask somone who knows a lil better about the 4thgen drivetrain/ecm

It would physically bolt in just fine. Not sure how the 94+ ECM would do without the tranny plugged in though.

hmm im thinking, could you flash the PCM to function as a stick shift car and then run a 700r4 with the manual TC lock-up switch?

I dunno if you could do that, or if you would just have to get a 6-spd PCM.

Either way it might work.

it would be a lot easier to just pick up a 4L60E than trying every trick in the book to make a 700R4 work.

Megan is a member here. If she wants to part out her car, she can put up a post in the classifieds section where it belongs.
