Trying to make sense of this thread... 6-10mpg? seriously what are you running a 4:56 spool? my 94 vert gets mid 20's with a 3:73 rear. Its just a car, figure out the issue and fix it or pas it along like the person who neglected the 94 I just picked up. Photos and a description always helps good luck

a 2jay can be pretty bad-ass, especially with a gigantic turbo

Def, LS1s really don't have any issues and they run forever.

i did all new plugs wire ... act with the new motor down to the water pump and opti so i don't see it being that but it is running really rich my uncle said the he has a guy in westchester that did his vette

the motor it has is a lt1 the cylinders were honed out a little to clean up the walls it the only real mod is the gm hot cam other then that it has roller rockers and lifters new pistons and new heads that i believe are stock maybe jus milled down a little bit

and i got a high of 12.168 that was 80% high way

also it back fired a few times (at least sounded like it loud boom noise) and at low rpms like when i coast to a light the engine light comes on and usually turns off after i get it to a decent speed and higher rpm and also the car runs a lot hotter around town like 185 highway and 210 around town anything sound weird with that my idle is very low around 550 while in drive about 750 in neutral but is usually fine at idle jus a lot of weird things with the car that don't add up to me i know that the car is untuned and is running very rich and has a small cam in it but it shouldn't be half the milage as NHRABill said his gets mid 20' i get between 6-12 but usually around 10

On a serious note, you do realize none of that will change without you working on teh car or bringing it to a reputable shop.... right?

You keep repeating it needs to be tuned, call up PCMforless, order a mail order tune, and then do all the misc tune up stuff pointed out earlier.

Otherwise, continue making random posts about its short comings, buy an LS1 and then wonder why that car doesn't run great either.

something has to be a miss. I had a carbed 383 with a 650 lift cam in it with a turbo 350 trans and that got better than 10 MPG so something is wrong

You have a lot going on.

Sounds like you need to get the car on a scanner and see what's up. Could be a whole myriad of things. Bad plugs, dirty MAF, bad O2s, vacuum leak, etc etc.
