My battery died about a week ago, due to a short that I am aware of in my drivers side door. Â*Well I jumped the dead battery off a battery charger we have; just to get the car running and last alittle bit longer, but it always died completely withing a very short period of time. Â*I took the battery to Sears, and they tested it and it was completely dead, so we got a new one for free.
Now I just noticed that whenever we attach the new battery my electric water pump turns on & stays on. Â*I drove the car around with the new battery and my volts were pretty good. Â*I parked the car and went inside for a few hours, and I came back and my new battery was very weak. Â*
Could it have been re-set or something from the first battery dying? Â*Last night I left my car again because the battery was drained, but I couldnt hear the pump (maybe a good thing?
) Â*And my dad disconected the new battery and it stopped.
Any ideas? Or should I just take it back to TTP?
My dad said it looks like the water pump is wired to the hot side of the battery and no to any ignition parts? Â*Im not 100% sure because this didnt start happening untill I got my car back from the transmission shop.
