Arching probs.

Alright. The Coil wire on my 93 T/A LT1 is arcing to the manifold and when its not arcing there its arching to the water pump. Any of you have this problem? My buddy is buying me MSD wires for my B day, I have OEM wires on there now. For a quick fix till Sat. when i get the wires i unloaded a whole roll of electrical tape on the coil wire. It still arcs time to time n the car then seems like its only running of of 6 Cyl.

Well, unless you can get the wires sooner, there really isn't much you can do. If the coil wire is arcing, you don't have power going to the distributor at that time, so you will have a dead cylinder each time that it arcs. Chances are that the problem is worse when you are actually driving (ie: when there is a load on the motor).

Have fun changing those wires (and make sure that you do plugs too)!

Yea. That wat i was thinking. U thinbk its ok to drive it like to class or anything? I dont want to float a valve or burn one out either. I pulled the plugs out this afternoon. They r clean as a whistle, all of em too. Wierd, really weird. IDK. thanx for the advice.

You should be fine driving around like that for very short periods of time. if the spark doesnt get to the plug, the fuel doesnt burn. raw fuel wont float a valve or burn a valve. It will mess up your catalitic converter if you drive around like that a lot though.
