Big brakes... *Pics*

So I decided to convert from stock c4 front brakes to the larger more powerful stock C5 front brakes and then up grade the rear pads and rotors. Heres the short picture time line.

Rotors came first. Directional StopTech rotors. Not cheap but from wat I hear WELL worth the money.

The first caliper and pads came in. Assembled.

Painted and assembled! Just waiting for the Stainless steel brake lines.

I think the C5 Z06 calipers are the only red calipers from GM (Z06 caliper is different). You could paint them.

Looks good.

Just minor things, nothing that says.. I need the C5 Z06 caliper over the C5.

Z06 -comes in red and has different castings and can handle a bigger disk then the C5

Now you want a big brake the 06-07 Z06 has a monster front brake system..you can see the difference between a C6 and the new Z06 brake.. WOW

Fact of the matter is. It is proven that more track "guys" prefer the C5 style brakes OVER the C6 Z06 because of VERY poor pad and piston design on the caliper.

There is no difference between the standard C5 caliper and the C5 Z06 design other than the color.

I'm jealous of the new slotted/drilled rotors from GMPP. When I retrofitted the C5's onto my IROC they didn't have the nice black coating on the center and fins. I powdercoated my center section clear but it's starting to rust ever so slightly.

I have the same rotors on my Hawk, within a week the center hub became rusty.

IDK who GMPP is... But the rotors I got are made by a company called stoptech and they came with the centers powder coated already and they have a phosphate coating on them so that where ever the pad DOESNT wear... The rotor with NOT rust... Kinda cool!
