Tired of Terrible Roads? Sign this peitition

(Not sure if this is the proper thread to post this, or if this is even allowed. Therefore, admins, if this is unacceptable please feel free to delete whenever.)

I work for AAA North Jersey, and spend most of my days behind the wheel. To put this bluntly, I am sick and tired of the terrible roadways in NJ. I'm tired of the "Patch and Pray" method, I'm tired of feeling like I'm offroading when I drive through town, and I'm tired of improper signage and worn off roadway lines. The interchanges in our state are dangerous and costly to all motorists. Our infrastructure is crumbling, and big businesses that bring in money are leaving our state, for a plethora of reasons, one of which is that our roadways cannot handle their moving parts. So instead of complaining about it, I am taking action. I propose that the state needs to step in, and evaluate all of the roadways from small municipalities, all the way to our major thoroughfares. If you agree, please take the time to sign my petition, and support this cause.

(I'm open to all forms of constructive criticism. The only way to fix this problem is to work together and provide a positive solution instead of simple complaints.)

I agree the roads are horrible and need attention. However, with the financial status of nj currently, I don't see how it would even be possible to pay for an in death evaluation of just state roads.

I understand financial concerns completely, but its the governments job to serve the people, its their job to find the money. We pay our taxes, we want the roads fixed. I'm absolutely positive that if we have enough signatures, and this petition makes it to where it needs to go, than they will look into it and find the money to at least act like they're trying to fix the problem (which is better than nothing). Especially being that its election time.

Not to get too far into other aspects of politics, but part of the reason we're second to last on that list is because our state government is hemorrhaging money. Funds are being allocated to departments, and government entities that don't even need it. They cry for more money when the budget time comes around because if they don't, they know that they'll get cut. This mismanagement of funds is a huge problem in all states, however in ours this issue seems to be extremely prevalent.

Move to central/south jersey. They just repaved and expanded the parkway, its those roads north of 120 area that fall apart.

I think also because the northern areas see a bit more snow and require a bit more salt and plowing. Every time I travel to central jersey in the winter, I notice there is less snow on the ground.

I signed too, although it's partially my fault for lowering the daily.

Thanks for the support. The amount of snow that we get up here is probably higher, therefore the amount of salt used also has to increase, plus I think there is a greater population density up here, so that means more cars per area. So to me, all of that should equal more/better road maintenance. The worst thing that could happen would be absolutely nothing, the best, would be getting better roads, and roadway maintenance. To me, it just makes sense.

I have been living away from NJ since 2008 and every year I make a visit or three and realize how crappy the roads are. I feel when I was living there I was so immune to the roads that I didn't even know what a nice road is suppose to feel like. Hope for the best for you tax paying residents.

Thank you. Oddly enough, I moved away from 08 to about 13, and boy was I spoiled. After moving back I have noticed the roads just getting steadily worse and worse. If we don't tell them were pissed about it, things will just keep going downhill until everything is really screwed up. Than it's gonna cost 10 times more to fix.

You guys think it's bad here? Try driving on roads in neighboring states, they're way worse. Drove to Mass. this weekend to visit my daughter. Man those roads are awful.
