it seems car dealers love to screw u

luckly my cat was under warranty cuz the bastards wanted to charge me around $720 to order and install the cat on my car!!! when i heard that i was like theres no way in hell im paying that much for a freakin cat! luckly it was under warranty and the guy remembered that and dropped it down to $75 for diagnostic charges... and this was what was completely screwing up my car idk if that was the cause of the misfires (they stopped about a month ago) but i know it was the cause of everything else, even that strange screaching noise us northern guys heard at fridays that night...

my dad/brother/moms whole argument for me keeping it on is that it will fail inspection, thats why you keep the cat and remove the bullet when you get it inspected (if thats possible) i was also thinkin (again) a cutout before the cat but my brother said that there wouldnt be enough backpressure to run the car with it open (or sumthin like that)

With the cat shields and a tune, you will not fail inspection.

No issues with running a cutout before the cat, your brother has obviously never tried it, and therefor doesn't know. Craig's driven his car a bit with an open y-pipe, and it ran fine.

ill have to think about removing the cat, i might give it awhile, say till mid march or so, cuz i dont want my dad to get pissed off at me. i think the best bet would be to get an electric cutout so i can open it when i need it and that way my dad wont get pissed at me
