SS Hood

That I bought from ImpalaSSpeed96 back in May. Finally got arround to start working on it over the past few days. I gotta find the before pics with the shattered side and broken corners off. "Hopefully" on thurs I'll be laying down the stripes and color. That should take a few hours. I still need to prime it and whatnot, so laying the color down might not happen. Anyways..

Looks good. How did you fix the corners, and what material did you use?

Chopped glass with resin

I ground down the corners to clean up the loose stuff. Then made a few deepish gouges in the good glass so when I laid up the glass/resin it had something to grip onto. After a few layers of glass/resin, I cut the rough shape of the corners with my 4" hand grinder and a cut off wheel.

Then I walked arround front to make a template off a good hood to get the shape of the corners and traced that onto the SS hood. Sanded it to that shape with a little bit of glass filler then some filler putty to get the transitions smoothed over.

The glass. resin, and fillers you can get at any local auto body store and umm Pep Boys beleive it or not.

Oh and I read this... (click this) ... and went to town.

Nothing. I dont have much free time. Hence why it took me about 1.5 months to get arround to working on it.
