Foglight Chop Opinion Wanted...
Hey all,
What do you think, if I flush-mount a pair of foglights a'la '69 Camaro or 4th-gen T/A on the Monte? This is just a chopped pic, no actual cutting has taken place yet.
Post your opinions!

I like it, but I think it would be better if they were moved out just a touch more. Maybe center them between the license plate bracket and the openings for the turn signals?.

Steve, do you drive this car on a regular basis(especially at night)? If so, then I think foglights are a good idea, I like the better vision you get at night and in bad weather. With that being said, I agree with J0n about the boxy looking front end and the round foglights not matching up well. If you don't need foglights then I wouldn't touch it. But if you really do want/need them then some thin, rectangular ones might work better IMO.

When I came up with the idea, I was thinking about the 4th Gen T/As; they have rectangular lights up top, and round ones next to the license plate. They're a smoother looking front than my car. I'll try chopping some rectangle ones in to see how it looks too.

Allright, here's another version. I made the lights a bit smaller, enlarged the license plate (it was too small, as noted), and centered the round fogs in the space between the plate and turnsignal openings. How's this look?

Well, here we go. I did one with rectangular lights too, centered between the plate and turnsignals. Now I'm not sure which one I like better!
Jake, I really want the lights for safety, but looks are a concern. They will be mounted from the back, and flushmounted to the fascia so they blend in.

you know, the front plate on the monte doesn't look as bad as it does on other cars. front plates look terrible on 4th gens and cars like the RX8 where the front plate makes the car look like it has bucked teeth.
but steve, like i said before, good lighting is always a good call (especially with the little ones in the car). the styling perks don't hurt either

I have to agree with a previous poster - it looks busy.
But if you feel the need for more lighting, then the rectangular ones look better.

doesn't look half good either.
if you would like to add fogs i would suggest hiding them behind the grill or something.

I might try to get smaller turnsignals (maybe some truck LED markers and use them as blinkers) and then mount foglights next to them in that opening where the huge turn signal is.
