Warwick Airport Photoshoot

I just got off the phone with the manger of Warwick Airport, David McMillan and he said he would be absolutely thrilled if we wanted to take pictures of our cars on the airport property! Now I have been to this airport MANY times as I used to work there for a local EAA chapters annual fly-in and let me tell you it is a very beautiful airport in the rural country located on a lake and in the woods. The only stipulation was that he asked if we could donate some to the local pilots association that runs the airport since this is a privately owned airport.

Now we just have to settle down into a details. It will most definitely be on a weekend. I personally Prefer Sundays as it is not as busy and will make the trip up reasonable. I think Late September Early October is our target area the weekends of the 29th-30th or 6th-7th. We can also meet somewhere in the middle and make a great cruise out of it since it is a very scenic drive up Skyline Drive/Ringwood lake area & beyond.

I will be running a special offer for high quality pictures for this event the details I will work out closer to the event.

So who is in?

Being that I ordered my parts for the car yesterday, there is a *ALMOST* okay chance that I could make it there WITH the car. I wouldnt know until much closer to that time.

I discussed some details with LS1Hawk (John) who's original idea this was and we've decided to add a gathering location that is directly in line with our destination and will provide us all a perfect spot to gather and travel in together in a large rolling convoy. I think we are looking at an October date for sure though but haven't made a specific date and from there we can plan a rain/soggy date.

dont forget that even though people hate to let their cars get wet, rainy/overcast days are often the best to take pictures, ESPECIALLY in the fall. leaf colors get more vibrant, ground is kinda shiny, and theres no direct sunlight or hard shadows..

As much as I agree, the field becomes a mud pit going to the lake so it wouldn't be good for our cars at all.

Just a bump still trying to secure a date, need some feed-back! Sundays preferred!

we could either meet on the parkway, or on rt. 17, depending on how people plan on getting there. the last rest stop in NJ on the parkway is in ramapo, i think. we could meet there, and then itd be maybe 30min from there to the airport. if people took 17 up, then the thruway, we could meet anywhere on 17.

The 17 way isn't very scenic that why I picked that local route.

It might have to be pushed back a weekend to possibly the 14th, but its definitely going to be in early October.
