If you're looking at internal upgrades with the rebuild you're going to come a lot closer to that price, and you can sell your trans for around $2k, most likely, and put it toward the Magnum F.

T56s still go for stupid money. I remember when used LS T56s were around $1k, last I looked I couldn't find anything for less than $2500
You might not get $2k, but you should be able to get quite a bit for it

After I priced out a rebuild I just went with the Magnum f. Plus if you buy used you don't know what your getting, some people will knowingly sell you garbage for a premium price and not care.

You'll be better off in the long run. Case is essentially the same externally and you get all the stuff Tremec upgraded without having to put a ton of money into hard parts. The gears are all wider and, IIRC, a stronger alloy

A Magnum F is basically a TR6060 except its a direct fit to replace your current trans. There is basically no reason to go with a TR6060 over the Magnum F

As per Larry the Magnum f doesn't have the carbon synchros

So? That seems like a piss poor reason to sell you a trans that is going to need a bunch of work to put into your car when the shifting is fine in the Magnum. I have read nothing but good things about the Magnums. Like if that is such a big deal, then buy the Magnum and open it an put those synchros in it.

Like literally buy Magnum F, ???, profit, FFS. You could swap the Magnum into your car in the time we've done the back and forth and you wouldn't be worrying about the current trans, LMFAO

He said the cost of taking apart magnum F and rebuilding it with the carbon syncros come out to same price as tr6060. i guess it is overkill but i just like to do things once and be done lol

You have a stock replacement LS7 clutch and you're worried about carbon synchros

Stop with the feature creep and just slap the CC down, lol

I suspect there's a lot of guys with higher dollar higher horse power cars running around with magnums out there who didn't fret too much about this.

This is why you can't have nice things.
