Restorzit

Anyone ever try that Restorzit Simoniz product that is advertised on TV? Supposed to remove oxidation and other surface elements?

I cant promise you that the product is junk... but like almost every other as seen on tv I highly doubt it will work as well as using the proper products for the job. (not to mention the claim of it lasting 1 yr is straight BS)

First of all the only way to remove oxidation from paint is to use either a chemical cleaner or abrasives.... both of which require some elbow grease or a buffer. Spray on wipe off products simply wont work.

Second no carnuba wax (which they say is in it) will last more then 4 months or so unless the car is stored inside under a cover and barely touched even most synthetic paint sealants will not last more then 6-8 months at most. The only coatings that will last a year+ is something like opti-coat 2.0 or cquartz (which i really dont suggest trying to apply at home on a car that isnt properly prepped)

Thx Rich.....I'm going to try to bring it back but don't know what to use. I've looked at alot of products from Meguiars to Poorboys to Black Pearl. Any recommendations would be appreciated. When applying something like Meguiars 105 or one of the Poorboys SSR's do you use a foam or wool pad? Man I'm a novice with this......

What type of equipment do you have... if your going at it by hand I'd suggest meguires 105 followed by griots garage hand polish and a ton of elbow grease. If you have a semi decent orbital or rotary(porter cable or better) I'd use a foam pad with menzerna SIP followed by PO85RD.

Some pics of my paint.

Any suggestions much appreciated. Talked to Steve at Poorboys and will probably try their Pro Polish.
