how many tenths can skinnies drop off the 1/4 mile?

i never really did a comparison. im thinkin maybe .1 second. between the weight savings and less rolling resistance.

Maybe, but even that's optimistic. Generally it's 100 lbs to a tenth, but with wheels you're talking about rotational mass so it may be different.

i heard they are good for .2? I guess it depends on the wheels that where on the fronts before...

I did the comparison on my car Ron.....a little over a tenth and 1-1.5 mph, and my 16" snowflakes are lighter than some of the 17" rims that are on the ss and ws6 so the improvement might be more for you. Needless to say I was surprised at the gains like everyone was telling me. it all depends on the skinnies too, i did weigh the welds and hoosier tires that Jersey ta let me borrow they weighed 20 lbs. each against 45 lbs. for my snowflakes and street tires. So saving 50 lbs. of the front and the rolling resistance which I think is the main factor is well worth it!

If I ever ever get a chance to make it to the track, I'll let you know. I definitely notice the front lift a little better and it hooks better on the street.

Every 25lbs of rotational mass is equal to 100lbs of static mass. You should be good for a tenth.

Normally they are worth 2-3 tenths, can be worth more if you have a particularly heavy wheel/tire combo.

Mine picked up a solid 2 tenths....They replaced oversized tires and rims.

i would imagine taking that much weight off the front and transferring it to the rear would have different benefites, along with getting quicker times.

but is there a way someone can truly tell? how do you know you just had a better run than a run you had with regular tires
