Ever having trouble swapping between cars?

My "daily driver" is an Accord. My "yahooooooooo it's sunny" car is an 86 IROC. When I get into my Accord after a few days in the IROC when I go to turn on the wipers I turn on the lights. The light stalk in the Accord is in the same place as the wipers in my IROC.

I sometimes get funny faces from other drivers as my lights flicker on and off and wipers go on and off.

yeha, i had trouble one time when i was switching from my datsun 280zx 5spd to my automatic montero. i went in the montero, went to press teh clutch pedal to start it and nearly hit my head on the steering wheel as there isn't any clutch pedal in the montero lol

my daily driver and my iroc are stick. my truck is auto, but that rarely gets driven. So I pretty much feel really weird for a couple minutes when i first get in an auto car anymore. I also have a feeling it's gonna feel odd when i have the iroc back together because the gto and the iroc both have very different feels and shift points, even though they're both 6 speed cars.

My daily driver is an '87 Monte SS, stock 305/automatic combo. My '88 SS "project car" is a modded 305 with a 5-speed manual tranny. After driving my '88 for a day or two, I'll hop in the '87 and look for the clutch pedal.

Edit: seems like I'm not the only one with this problem.

goin from my wifes buick to any center console auto...cuz the buick has the steering column lever for PNRD blah i sometimes grab for the floor console or vice versa in the other car depending on which im getting into. Same thing when the truck broke...i was looking for the clutch everytime i got into my new car.

Yeah when I go from the Z28 to the Trans Am, I always look for the center consol power window swtich in the Z28, and the Clutch in the Trans Am.

when i got my truck all back togather i was used to driving the 98 4cyl s-10 and i nailed it and lit the **** out of them cause the s-10 would never do that then i tried to stop and thats where the oh **** comes into place cause the s-10 did have good brakes and mine takes all or a mile to stop.

I almost forgot about the "air clutch". The first time driving my fathers Caprice Classic after driving stick for a semster at school I went for the ait clutch at 8-10 mpg, hit the left side of the large brake pedal and proceeded to lock up all 4 tires down the street from my house.

My dad broke my stones over that one for weeks.

yea from an RX-7 to a grand national...was used to 5 speed and seeing flip ups...so i would leave the lights on all the time...and sometimes would go to push the clutch down and would lock the brakes up....but i only locked the brakes up the first time i drove it and went to slow down...

My daily driver is a honda civic 5 spd manual.All 3 of my camaros are automatics.The biggest problem I have is with the power window switches.I always find myself going for the center console in my honda to put down the windows when infact they are located on the drivers armrest

whenever i get into a strange car i always look around to see where stuff is. i guess working on a used car lot and driving everything that came in helps a little.

i don't own a manual car right now, not sure i could push a clutch pedal down consistently. might have to rig something up. bah, who needs a six speed anyway?

i learned to drive stick in a '72 furd pickemup with half a clutch, and my '88 formula firebird was a 5 speed, so i have lots of experience. never pushed down on the air clutch or found the brake pedal looking for the clutch pedal before. that's gotta be a trip.

kind of like riding in the passenger seat and pushing on the air brake pedal, because the person driving waits too long to engage the brakes?
