91 Camaro RS stock tach not working?

It's really weird. The tach is pinned at 7000 rpm. When you start the car it goes from 7000 rpm to 0 back to 7000 rpm? Anybody see this before?

Check the wiring on the distributor. Is it backwards?

We killed an aftermarket tach that way and it did the same exact thing.

What wiring are you refering to?
