trade EVO for GTO?
like the heading says, should I trade:
03 Black EVO w/ mior bolt-on's and re-flashed 12Kmi
for a
New 04 GTO?
keep in mind, livin in NJ ,EVO is cheaper insurance-wise and the EVO makes the better all-year driver, but I miss torque!
althought the v8 would raise my insurance...up my a$$
i could prolly do a str8 up trade for a new 04, but can't afford an 05

import or domestic?
V8 or 4banger?
rice rocket or muscle car?
these are questions you don't really need to ask
i would sell the evo privately since you would get more for it and put a down payment on an '05 GTO. i am sure if you go to flemington pontiac ali would be happy to help you buy a new goat
later

I am not a fan of the newer GTO's, so... go EVO. lol
Actually, hold on to the EVO until the new Camaro comes out... then swap for a new Camaro!!! WOO!

i know this will be viewed as sacristy(sp?) but keep the evo man...it took the formy, so you know its a high 12 second car on a good day, plus its much better on insurance, you can drive it every day, and take turns at 70mph over wet leaves. Â*this is almost identical to my predicament a few months ago:
i had plenty of money for a good 3rd gen 350 with enough for insurance, and go-fast parts...a 3rd gen was the economical(eh sorta lol) way to go, of course i was a ******* and bought a 4th gen cuz chicks dig convertibles but in all seriousness i regret not making the smarter decision of going for a 3rd gen, so all i say is think it over for a week w/o drinking, make a sober decision(thats right i said no jack!) then get wasted and party cuz you came to a decision(if you dont invite me i will beat the **** outa u! lol) btw tell jess we should hang out again sometime soon :P
edit: we still gotta run evo vs t/a biatch! after i get a new clutch and a working exhuast system

Id hold onto the Evo for a couple more seasons, you cannot go wrong with AWD in the snow 8) Wait a while and see if theirs any serious updates on the 05 GTO, or if the f-body makes its return.

on second thought keep the evo till you can trade it for an 05 gto w/ 20k miles on it...might not be a straight trade but pretty damn close...even tho it doesnt make ANY sense from a practical/financial standpoint...eh screw it your better off keepin the evo, specially when you know who and you start makin you know whats...4 doors will come in handy then

i'll be honest, that's a tough call. I own an 04 gto and i test drove the evo, and i was blown away by both.
the reason i didn't go with the evo was because it didn't come with the options I wanted. I basically wanted an evo with no rear wing, and the dumb **** car salesman didn't want to make the deal work. They could have ordered a brand new evo rs trunk lid and painted it for me, and I probably would have paid sticker on the car, and all they would have had to suck up was the cost of the trunk lid and painting it. They could have even ebayyed the trunk lid with the deer antlers on it, I wouldn't have cared. I certainly didn't want it.
the evo rs package comes with no rear wing, but also no stereo, no power windows or locks, and no keyless entry. The stereo wouldn't have been a big deal to add, but i didn't want to deal with the other ****.
i guess if i had to answer it i'd put it this way. If i only could own one vehicle period, I'd pick the evo over the gto. But since I own a beater truck as well and I don't have to drive the gto in winter, or to move big ****, or to pack 4 or 5 people into, I'd pick the gto again in a second even if the evo came the way i wanted at the price i wanted.

people are running as good as 13.1 bone stock on street tires with the 6 speed. Â*evo's are no faster, probably a little slower. Â*And if you threw drag radials on a gto to even out the traction between the two a little, you'd have deep 12's easy. Â*
and of course there is the 05 ls2 cars. Â*8)

oh yeah, and i should say one thing too. new evo stickers for like 27,000 - 30,000. GTO is 33,XXX sticker. You can get them down in the evo range with all the incentives though. Still, anyone who would trade a brand new 04 gto for a used 03 evo which was a cheaper car to begin with would be insane. I don't know how you plan on doing an even trade, but I wouldn't count on it.

you could feasibly get one for probably 25ish now if you aren't picky on options. If i wouldn't have jumped on mine right away, 2-4 weeks later I could have had $3500 in rebates, plus I had a coupon from GMAC for 2 free payments for a returning customer, plus I got like 4 off sticker price too. I could have had it for like 25ish

i mean color combinations really. Â*most color exteriors have two interior color choices, and then there's 6 speed or manual, that's it. Â*A lot of them have dealer installed aftermarket hoods from my experience too.
i personally wanted impulse blue/6 speed/black leather, and I wasn't willing to settle, so it's probably good that I jumped when I did since that's probably the most desired combination.

04!! Try 05! Looks like im late to this shindig...but get rid of the Evo and get a 05 GTO. Much livable coupe, and exhaust note is worlds better. That alone sways teh vote.
