ok well tonight i buttoned up a few loose ends on my 87 monte project. I installed rear exhaust hangers. um, well i dont think you could really call them "rear", they are just about under the front seats, but the mufflers dump right under the rear seats, lol. i also correctly spaced the rear wheels, they are now just about flush with the wheel well lip, looks nice and mean. i tightened the clutch slave cylinder and then fired it up. this time it got to run for more than a minute. I had it running a good 15 min, heated up nicely, had great oil pressure, alt was charging fine, power steering was whining( i had to add more since i forgot the other week). Now i got it idleing at about 900 rpms. The first 10 min it was still puffing out light smoke (from the rebuild, new cats and new mufflers and pipes) but then it cleared up. The clutch pedal engages and the cars feel like it just wants to go. It just may be too loud, it has a sick rumble that should scare away most imports and toughguy racers. anyways, hopefully the next chance i get, its getting registered and insured, then i'll see how it likes being on the road after being in my garage sine March.
