Noob question

I want to start racing at Atco on a regular basis next season. Where can I get the different classes and rules at. What Im looking to do is stay somewhat mild in the 12sec times.
Thanks
The Nooby

Are you looking for a heads up 12.0 index class, or are you interested in bracket racing?

12.0 index rules: 12.0 Index

The 12.0 index class is for guys running heads up, but everyone must run between a 12.0 and a 12.5. Any faster or slower and you are kicked out.

To run Gamblers (their bracket racing) I think all you have to do is pass tech for the ETs / mph you are running.

I'm assuming you have more mods than exhaust and air foil if you're going to be running in that class? or at least I hope?

Atco runs several programs. Check the schedule http://www.atcorace.com/

Brief run down on the classes.

Tuesday nights Gamblers race. Bascially anything goes. Bracket racing on a .500 sportsman tree. Bad thing is that there are dragsters running electronics. Very tough.

Index 12.0 , 10, and 8.50 check the schedule. I believe about 6 times a year. Run off a .500 pro tree. 2 runs to qualify then a ladder starting with the top 8, 16, or 32 depending on the number of entries. Very competitive and you better be able to run on the index. I ran the 12.0 a few years back. I ran 12.04 and qualified number 4 of 8 in a 15 car field and the slowest car to qualify was 12.07. Trans brakes are allowed but no electronics. Bacically bracket racing on a hard dial in number (every one in the class is dialed the same example 12.0)

Summit ET Series. About 21 races a season (see schedule). This is the most popular. 3 classes on a .500 sportsman tree. Street, PRO, and Super PRO. Your pay $50 or so in the beginning of the season and the track keeps track of points. Top finishers get to represent ATCO at the division ET finials race in September. Big thing for bracket racers. Street class is 19.99 – 11.50, mufflers, and dot tires, factory glass. No electronics or dragsters. Check rules or call track. Next class up is PRO, no electronics or transbrakes, no dragsters. 15.99-9.0. This is more a true race car class. Slicks, open exhaust, plexyglass windows etc. Last class is Super Pro, electronics and transbrakes allowed. 12.99 – 7.0 Dragster class with some fast door cars. There is a entry fee for all classes.

I would recommend that you run Street next season. Atco is very very competitive. Check the rules on the site and or call the track. I would also recommend you go and watch a few times to get a feel of what’s going on.
