Yea he is, but he's hard to get a hold of these days. He spends a lot of time travelling with his son racing quads all over the country. I'm saving the Dana 44 for him though, whenever I have the money and he has the time....

Heads Up did the warranty work on my Strange 12-bolt. Strange recommended him. I watched him set up the new carrier (Strange forgot to machine the ABS ring in the carrier they put in the rear). He didn't have a lift, jacked the back of the car, managed to pull the complete carrier out without moving even the sway bar, put the new unit in and set it up "manually" without a single measurement. It was perfectly silent. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

He told me (this was at least 5 years ago) he makes his money in the shop doing maintenance work welding up machinery for local industires, and only works on cars he likes. He refuses to work on the ricers.

Nice guy. Mucho talent.

I had Stage 1 on rt 23 north in Pompton Plains swap the 3.73's for a set of 4.10's in my Strange 12 bolt. I dropped off the car at 10 am, and he called me at 2 pm and told me it was all done. The rear is very quiet. Rob really knows his stuff. He does lots of Buick Grand National work, and there are always a few older musclecars there waiting to be worked on.

Around North Jersey I would either go with Stage 1 in Pomptain Plains, or All Star in north Haledon.

Another vote for Andy and A&D auto. He's doing the 12-bolt for my '81, the Dana 60 for my '71 truck and I'll probably have him do another 12 bolt for my '93 Z. He has tons of 9" housings too.

They over torqued the carrier bearings. Which in turn caused massive amounts of heat and some whining. Heads Up put in some new bearings and torqued it to spec and it has been great ever since.

Thank's for the reply, I was debating on the Moser 12 bolt or the Strange S60. What made you decide on the S60? Also any rattles or anything diff. than stock? thanks

I decided on the s60 for several reasons. 1. The 12 bolt set ups seem to be hit or miss, cant count how many threads I've read on ls1tech about howling 12 bolts. 2. The 9 in. has an issue when once installed the torque arm hits the floor and some 'bfh' is required to quell the bumping. 3. WHen they say the s60 is a bolt in it truly is. I just mounted all my brake hardware (had to bend the lines slightly) lifted it up and it went right in. Fits like a glove. You will need a shortened driveshaft (you can get that with the rear anyway).

The rear does generate a bit more road noise. I would recommend making sure your pinion angle is set properly, ALso make sure your wheels and driveshaft are balanced. That way if you do have any vibrations some variables will already be eliminated.

Anyway if your local to me I'd be more than happy to let ya check it out.
