Powerglide advice please

anyone around here really good with trannies?
i got a V6 powerglide for my project and i am looking to rebuild it.
i was wondering what brands of parts you guys recomend for repeated drag abuse and street useage?
i was also wondering how much the dual ring servo adds to tranny life, if any. it is a cheap part, so if it helps at all i will get one.
can anyoen recomend a good manual valve body? i am looking to go forward pattern if possible. not looking for a transbrake body, i am a footbrake racer only.

thanks
tim

I was thinking along a similar line...not quite twilight zone, but still some other world where Tim asks questions...at least regarding cars anyways

Even though Tim might not know exactly what's he's doing we know he can't break it... I mean come on, it's only got 2 gears. What's he going to do, remove a gear to reduce weight?
Tim, what year is the trans?
I'd go with kit that offered the best tech advice and came with a video. Even though it might cost more at least you know you've got all the parts to do the job and aren't sitting around with an open trans waiting for parts.

that is pretty much what i am thinking of doing. prolly gonna go with a tci master rebuild kit, hipster dual ring servo, and a tci manual valve body. not sure about teh convertor yet, i will have to see what kind of power band the motor will have and then figure it out from there. prolly gonna end up wiht something arounf a 3000-3500

i will try to give him a shout some time this week. hopefully he can hook me up with all the parts i will need and some solid advice. i wanna shoot for around 450-475 to the wheels with the boost. shoudl be easy to make a glide that can handle 500ish ft/lbs on the input shaft. hehe

one day you should go up to the gamblers guys at atco, a lot of them probably run a glide, you could pick up a lot from them
