Finally tackling the plugs as we speak
LS1 Plugs:
This is a friggin B!@tch!! LOL!! Even the driver side was giving me trouble, the previous plugs were undoubtably torqued more than they were supposed to be. But to tell you one thing, I was completely suprised of the condition they were in, they weren't all that bad for the near 40,000 miles they were in. I'll post pics of the plugs and me dumb ass kneeling on the intake manifold haha...What a joyous day...
The time frame that installuniversity said wasn't too far off either, they said 45 minutes - 8 hours... Well considering it took me about 2 hours to figure out what tools made the best combo in each position, it's taking pretty long.
So far I do recommend one thing, start with the driver side first, as it does build confidence being the easier side...And you get the jist of getting the bastards out of there..

Don't forget a little bit of anti-sieze compound on those threads, or you won't get these plugs out either.  Sparkplugs and AL heads are not always a friendly combination. And if any of them feel like it's not going in perfectly smooth, back it out and start over. Galling the threads will not be too much fun either.

Oh I remembered the anti-seeze, dont have to worry about that one...
I found that the #8 cylinder on the passenger side is much much easier from the bottom, if you have a lift of coarse.
Upon start up, the car seemed to run a little smoother. I'm too damn tired and my arms have too many little cuts and bruises, so I'll post the pics another time lol...
Oh and all the ranting about moving the coil pack rail out of the way, I think thats more trouble than just getting it done.. GIT-R-DONE

jeez, it sounds like it would almost be easier to take a few more bolts out and pull the engine from the bottom - if you have a lift, that is. then you could not only change the plugs but any other thing that needed attention. yes, there was a guy who did it this way. he said it saved a bunch of time and aggravation.

Actually, I have a lift AND a crane above it, would have been simple, good idea though, might end up doing that on the header install just for ****s and giggles!!

Oh and with all the finding the right tool combinations and stuff, it actually ended up taking about 4-5 hours....Fricken sucked...Thank god for the air conditioned garage!!
