mono is ok, but personally, with 2 subs, you might as well go for a 2 channel. ive seen and built many setups and thats just my opinion. I will admit that with stereos, everyone has their own beliefs and "what they've been told" so i'm not trying to preach to you what i believe, lol.

the 1ch vs. 2ch does matter quite a bit on you're subs... those subs a single Voince coil at 4 Ohms each so bridged, you'd be running 2 Ohms x 1. The bazooka you listed is RMS 150 watts at 2 Ohms, not that bad. However, with a better amp you'll get MUCH better quality and performance. The only brands of amps i will buy are the 3 following... Alpine, kenwood, and soundstream... alpine cheap ones are just that, cheap. my 2 ch alpine was $700. Kenwoods are very cheap and powerful, but lack some sound quality. they do have nice features like temp protection shutdown and such that allow them to take a beating. I ran a 300 watt kenwood at .5 Ohm(NOT recommended at all) and it did fine. (most amps are not stable at even 1 Ohm) And finally, i love soundstream, those will be the next set of amps i buy. They are incredible and last, but once again you pay for the quality. I run soundstream subs and they are amazing. After 6 years of serious abuse, bass cds and all, they still slam. In my case, my stereo is a big part but for you, i dont see the need for top dollar equipment, but at least go for something good.

Kenwood makes a 300watt 2 channel amp w/built in fan for around $120 new @ 6th ave elctronics or best buy. ive installed 2 of those and they are great....

If price isnt that important,This is what i'd recommend....

Soundstream REF300.2 approx. $280

EDIT: also one BIG thing to make sure of, is that whatever headunit you are using, has RCA outputs, almost all do so that shouldnt be a problem, some even have sub outputs which are even better.

EDIT #2: Also another thing i forgot to ask is abotu the box/subs you are using,... seperate boxes or one? sealed? ported?

kid, i looked up specs on that amp... not impressive at all, no offense.
I really have NO CLUE how they claim 2600W @ 4 Ohm bridged and just 130W stereo @ 4 Ohm. I would recommend staying away from that one if you're looking for true system quality. Find a better amp.

"2-channel, 130W x 2 max @ 4ohm,
2600W x 1 bridged @ 4ohm,
Dim: 2.4"H x 10.7"W x 11.8"L,
MOSFET PWM power supply,
Fully adjustable electronic crossovers,
Fully protected circuitry,
Remote Turn On & Bass Boost,
Soft Turn On/Off circuit,
Variable gain control,
Variable bass boost (0 12 dB @ 60 Hz),
S/N ratio: >95 dB,
Freq resp: 15 kHz 30 kHz,
THD: ,
Blue-light illuminated,
Power & prote "

I've dealt with ALOT of amps... jensen, sony, optimus, orion, alpine pioneer, soundstream, MTX, kenwood, PPI, Lanzar, etc. And I have learned that the cheapest, non major brand names are not quality. Like everything else anyone talks about buying on this site, "you get what you pay for".

I think, and may possibly be going out on a limb here, but I'm fairly certain that Paul(SmokingSS) knows ALOT more than you, and challenging him is pretty stupid of you

a quick search of the head unit says: one set of preamp outputs (switchable rear/subwoofer output)

I'll probably go with that kenwood amp, doing this on a budget. That won't be too much power? (remember im an audio noob)

The subs are currently in seperate sealed boxes, I'm kinda contemplating doing something custom though and having them in 1 box. Idk.

im gonna have to disagree with paul and note that a dual channel amp for subs isnt the most efficient way. since subs are non-fading, there is no reason to have seperate channels for them. now, you may see there is no benefit and say there is no drawbacks as well. this is not true, class -d single channel amps are far more efficient then class-a multi-channel amps. this draws less power and produces far less heat.

kidracer- please dont sell our friends that garbage. pyramid amps are as useless as your posts.

kasey- what kenwood amp?
