name that noise

I have this post in thr NNJ section, wasnt sure where I would get the most views.

Noticed a weird noise the other day up top around the driverside valve cover and from inside the car. Doesn't sound like the normal sewing maching sound a valvetrain would make, sounds more like a cluck to me. Kinda like a sound you could make with you tounge against the top of your mouth. You can here it in the videos. let me know what anybody thinks. Already had the cover of and no broken springs or loose rockers that I can see Thanks

Not that its your fault but its real tough for me to hear the noise. I could say anything from the manifold leaking to a rod bearing starting to go to a lifter noise. They are all merely deaf guesses, though.

Yea your right. The first video you can hear it best. Its doesn't have that treaded evil rod knock or that tap/rap of a header leak. It gets less as its warm.................

I have i5 now so I should reshoot it for better sound.

Yeah like I said they were both just guesses. I would try looking on youtube for what you suspect it is and see if other videos sound similar.

I know my old 93 would start to make a bit of slapping noise when the oil started to get old. I think I was using 15W40 or 20W50 when I had the supercharger on it. I could really tell the difference and an oil change would quiet it back down. When was your last oil change? Do you still have the AIR system installed?
