Seafoam

I have heard all of this wonderful talk about it, so yesterday i picked up a couple cans to use in my next oil change. But what is the proper way to use it for my car?? It say it can go in the crankcase, the tank, or through the FI...How do you guys use it???

seafoam is awesome. do what the can says depending on what you want clean. i would do a can in the fuel system and a half can in the crankcase. see how that treats you.

probably the same way. as long as you have power brakes, you do it the same. you dont pour it into the fuel injection system or anything. read the link i posted, i think it has pics too. doesnt mention its exclusive to ls1s or fuel injection.

I sucked it in through one of the vacuum fittings on the throttle body so it could spread out evenly to all the cylinders. I think it was the PCV fitting on my LS1. On the LT1 I used the power brake booster hose.

yeah, its a pcv hose in the very front of the manifold. warm up the car. take it off, feed another line with a funnel to it. when you start the car itll run like crap and whistle through the tube you intsalled. pour 1/3 of the can in the funnel and the car will almost stall. when it does that, shut it off. go in the house for at least 10 minutes. go back outside, start the car and rev it over and over. itll smoke like you blew it up, then clear out after 30 secs or so. repeat this process until little or no smoke comes out...

oh by the way, my car, since doing this has a lower, smoother idle and has no hesitation at all during acceleration. i swear by this stuff.

My concern with doing Seafoam (in the oiling system) is that if the engine wasn't taken care of over it's life and has oil build up the Seafoam could turn it to sludge and clog the oiling system.

Haven't seen it with the synthecs, just dino oil. People that don't change their oil frequently don't realize how much build up there is in the lifter galley and such.

If you have high milage and used standard oil you might want to rethink doing this?

i have high mileage and use standard oil and i did it...worked amazing. imma do it again and do an oil change n whatnot soon

I just used it to clean out the intake and it worked nicely. You can actually notice a difference in idle and throttle response after the first time using it.
