ive had the car for over three years, and have had long tubes on it from day 1 and I never ever had a problem until I did the swap... and honestly I replaced the starter at the end of the swap as well (with a napa rebuild) so its very possible the started just kinda... sucks

correct. could be a poopy napa starter though. can try running a remote button to it (2 wires and a button), whatever that tool is called lol. that will help see if its a wiring or starter issue

How is the battery? I had a battery with a dead cell that would cause the car to not start after it got hot.

As someone who is also concerned with starter and header clearance, I'm curious in hearing what the more-experienced have to say on this subject.

OP- if you can, post an installed picture of the heat shield you ended up buying

Makes even more sense since the car wasn't tuned (according to his sig) after the heads/cam.

We'll threw the starter back in today, along with the starter blanket that I bought from summit, and wouldn't you know I had absolutely 0 problems starting the car, however it did have to learn to re idle. I'm also not to sure I'm happy with the blanket set up, it just kinda seems halfast so I think I'll fab up a heat shield out of something, but as for now this works, considering I hardly drive te vehicle, I'll probably focus on getting tune next, as for the pics, I will post some next time I get back under the car, but I did just start my locker install on the jeep, so it may be a little before I get back under there
