I believe that was the AC Expressway....the cops closed off at least one lane for the ~500 vettes that registered to participate. It was Kerbeck's Toys for Tots run....

DAYUM! The silly thing is that car sounded like it still had more left in it at 170.

lol I know when i did that in the past, at night time, The one car that would be on the road at that time would get scared and either pull over or swerve away, like WTF was that? a UFO? i dont do that in my car anymore though. Im getting wiser now and figured I'd stop while im ahead and in one piece.

Don't get me WRONG. I would LOVE to do 175+ mph in a Vette or modified F-Body, but I don't think anybody on this thread had considered how FAST an accident i.e., DEER, ANOTHER CAR etc. would come up on you, and you would have ZERO time to react. Nobody is wearing a HELMET, has a ROLL CAGE or any safety equipment at all. That A S S hole was going 175+ past cars that looked like they were standing still. What if ANY of those cars had decided to move out of the way, but did not anticipate the CLOSING RATE of that car? Instant destruction to at least two cars, and a hell of a lot more that would caught in the aftermath. Of course NOTHING could happen, as we watched the video and were thrilled at the outcome. But as a famous bumper sticker once said "S H I T HAPPENS"! Just my

I'm kinda agreeing with you Ed. And this was a charity event run, and someone has to be the "LOOK AT ME" guy that ruins it (luckily not in this case).
I guess it is tempting if you got a fast enough car, but one slip up and the whole event gets ruined for the years to come.
I should clarify that I'm not saying that this isn't a sweet video to watch, cause it is. And I'm condoning this dude cause others were speeding and I don't know the full background of the whole event. I was speaking in general from what i see during motorcycle runs and such like that. When towns and authorites go out of their way to make something possible, and people don't take into consideration of being civil.
That video looks like insane fun though

My understanding is that the road was closed to the public by the police. I didn't see anything but vettes in the video.
