anyone have experience with dogs

i need some help from anyone thats good with dogs..

my dog is extremely territorial and barks and growls viciously at anybody that comes into my house. this is a medium sized dog with part pit in her, we dont know the other half. pretty much because we saved its life, we found her in a sewage drain christmas eve about 5-6 years ago and it came into our car and we kept him. we are guessing he was abused before we got him.

but i was wondering if anybody had this problem with any of their dogs before...i need to get it to stop being so crazy when i have people are over. we tried introducing it to new people and petting them but if they leave and come back 20 minutes later its the same story. any help is appreciated. thanks.

Your dog does that because she thinks its her house and shes acting like the pack leader of the house. You've gotta train your dog to were you are the pack leader not her. Ive had rottis all my life and there no small dog. I would suggest you look at leerburg.com, Hes got some great tips for dogs

Np but its harder for older dogs cause there very set in their ways. You might need a shock collar for her so idk how you feel about that lol

No cause she needs to learn that its your house and not hers. Shock collar isnt the only way but it is an option. http://leerburg.com/308.htm long video but great info. If shes still like that when a baby or small child comes it could be dangerous

true. well my family knows the dog is full of fluff. it will bark and growl but he will only really get bad when you walk towards him quick, stare at him alot, or run away from him

my dog lives at my gf's condo. Whenever someone walks by the sidewalk, he goes crazy. Whenever someone starts a car, he goes crazy too. We gave up and just accept him as a crazy ass dog

I had a dog like that she was a boxer except the only difference was she only did that to black people.
we tried everything and we could not get her to stop.

shock collars actually work pretty well... my dog stopped being crazy when the collar was on.... we didnt even have to use it after the first couple shock's it was just the fear in them that kept them from doing it

ya i'm just saying imagine if a small kid comes over and starts pulling on the dogs tail or young children start running around the house and she goes after them and hurts one. Last thing i would want is a lawsuit let alone the guilt of my dog attacking a little kid, my friends, or my family. She doesn't mean to do it she is just programmed that way

X2, you dog is showing dominance. you have to show him that you are his master and he is not in control.
