My 2001 Camaro is throwing rear 02's, AIR, and cat efficiency. Are you talking about permanently deleting them? I can delete them with my reader but they come back after a few mins. If thats what you need I can maybe help...

I can delete them temporarily with my Predator but they will come back. You need custom tuning to program them out. Or you could put the stuff back on!

No, with a real tuning suite (like HP Tuners) you can actually tune out those codes so they don't ever come back.

Justin,

Yes, That was what I was talking about... Don't want a whole tune since I am not done adding parts to the car.

I have a Matco scanner/datalogger and can delete them, but as soon as the system rechecks itself, they come back.

Thanks though.

you should look into a set of rear 02 simulators. stopped throwing codes on my buddies ss when he did the headers and true duals.

Yeah, I can make my own easy enough. But that'll only fix my 02 codes, I also do have AIR and EGR as well. :\

if you clear the 02 codes and get the sims...you can delete the egr and air codes and it should adjust for itself. this is interesting...i have a 98 as well that i was gonna delete the egr and air on. let me know how you make out

he needs the sensors tuned out so the car doesn't throw a check engine light and passes inspection.

I don't know if you'll pass inspection with the codes deactivated. The emission tests the PCM runs won't set a PASS condition, only a NOT READY.

Not the same as a FAIL, but might not be adequate for an OBD-II inspection by the NJ gestapo.

It comes up as rear heated o2 sensors not used on the DMV inspection print out sheet on their computer so as far as their computer knows the car doesnt use them and didnt come with them so it checks it off as Pass..

Foff667 can't do them anymore - he works for HP Tuners now, so he had to stop tuning.

On a side note - good to see you back here again, it's been awhile

Apparently my EFI Live program can tune I believe it's 98 cars unlimitedly if that's even a word (only ever used for my 2k car so I didn't much pay attention to that fact). PM me if you want to stop by sometime and if that's indeed the case, I would be more than happy to help. Thanks.

Wow, he's really found his strong spot. I'm very glad to see that scanning session a few years back was a good investment of time.

I'm glad to be back and thanks for the warm welcome, we added another family member in 2006 and between her and work my schedule went to heck.

I finally pulled the Z28 out of the garage this Spring, took it to Memphis for the big F-Body event and had a blast, now I'm debugging T56 shifting problems but it's nice to be back in the saddle.

I know the feeling - since the last time you've been around I've gotten married and I have a 10 month old son running around now too.

FYI you can have two systems not ready and pass NJ inspection
