My understanding is that sometimes a motor/trans mount mismatch or driveline misalignment can lead to case breakage. Polyeurethane (like yours) is stiffer and less forgiving so if something was out of wack it was transferred to the case instead of being absorbed by the mount.

However,

It could have just been an old PG case that had some fatigue in it already.

awesome car man, sorry you had to spend that much (im new to this myself so if you told me that was what it cost to get there i wouldnt argue) but in the end all that matters is its over, and you have one hell of a sweet ride

After spending money on paint and body work did u really use a forklift to move that car? Did it atleast have subframe connectors on it when you did that?

im right down the street in milltown, my dad has a 68 as well. i feel like i know where that street is but its been a while since ive ran (literally) in spotswood, cant quite put a pin on it
