which rear main seal?

95 lt1

1993-1996 rear main seal housing 14088556

1993-1996 rear main seal 10088158

1997 rear main seal housing 12554312

1997 rear main seal 12554314

1993-1997 rear main housing gasket 12555771

i heard the 97 is better, is it because its the teflon one?

any advice always appreciated

just get a aftermarket one from fel pro or the like and get trhe best one they got then you wont have to take too much thought into it

went with the non-teflon seal and got the housing gasket too.

I went with the teflon one on my 95. It hasnt leaked a drop since.

You install the Teflon dry. You pre oil the rubber seals but the teflon you dont. If you pre oil it then the seal wont seal. They come with instructions so make sure you read how to get it ready for install.
