Comparison to strength (flex & shear) Mild steel has to be (x) amount of times thicker(= more weight) to Equal the same strength of a much smaller guage Chromoly.

My intentions for comment being in a Structural State of mind. Putting a mild steel cage in your car is a waste (unless your a bench racer.lol)

yes... 16g mild vrs. 16g chromoly =mild being lighter. but mild aint gonna save your @ss!!!

I decided on CM early on, thats what Im going with regardless of where I get the kit.

Anyway, I did a little research and the spohn roll bars are actually S&W racing bars that they sell. I cant find any current info on their bars...looks like everyone that got a kit bought it 3 years ago.

Can anyone recommend a place that does decent TIG welding? Experience with installing roll bars would be a plus...
