What size shot?

My pistons should be coming in by the end of this week. Motor will be going out to the machine shop.
Quick question, what size shot of nitrous can I run with the following setup:
LE 234/238 .612"/.612" 111 LSA
Trickflow 21* 185 heads
Probe SRS pistons (2618) - Thicker nitrous deck, top ring seated lower... details in link below:
Callies Compstar H-beam (4340/5.7/3.48) rods
Stock Crank (4 bolt main)
Anywhere from 11.6-12.2:1 static compression

I'm willing to run a nitrous dedicate fuel system. Gotta figure out what size shot of nitrous to have the rings filed for. Any ideas? Bigger the better... as long as it's on the safe side to run.

Whatever you want. What did you build the motor to handle? If you wanna be safe, run 150 like people do on stockers. If you wanna have fun, get some jets with bigger holes and see what's the weak link.

Don't laugh but I really wanted to do a 250-300 shot using the Nitrous Express direct port setup but I'm terrified of it breaking.

And I wasn't sure if filing the rings that wide for a 250-300 shot would be too excessive to drive around occasionally.

Better hope the rest of the car is setup for a 300 shot.

.240" start of the top ringland and the deck is .240" thick.

Piston seems like it will take a pretty descent shot. It seems like the most serious piston I could get without going with a custom set.

Plan on running a Perfomabuilt 4L60E and Strange Dana 60 rear.

it will handle a 200-250 shot reliably as long as you don't rattle it.

How would I go about doing that? I've only messed around with a 100 shot on a car. I don't know much about it but obviously I will research all this and ask questions as I get closer to that point. For now I want to run it NA behind the S60 and performabuilt trans. I wanna stuff a 3800 stall converter behind it.

window switch the nos to come on at 3500 or later and you won't rattle it. In your case have it hooked to trans break & WOT switch so when trans break released and you foot it nos will come on.

Awesome. That's what I planned on doing. Getting excited. Thing should be pretty quick on a 250 shot.

Nitrous Outlet makes a sweet direct port set-up for our cars. The fastest nitrous LT1 in the world (Tony Shephard) runs this set-up...

Do they even make a trans brake for a 4l60 anymore? That converter is going to flash pretty high too. Are you getting one with anti-ballooning plates?

As long as your ring ggapes right, your tune is on, and you use proper fuel there is no reason you can't go 300+HP

Cool cool. I'm excited. I think I'll stick with a 250 shot on a dedicated fuel system.

Worth running the stock trans (as far as I can tell all it has is a shift kit) or just have it built while the motor is out?

Well the guy above me said something about the stock trans but as I read his post I pictured a guy who would sound like he had marbles in his mouth.
