10 bolt limited slip

my 88 iroc has a 10 bolt limited slip, all stock rear, i have 3.08 gears, since im not getting a rear now, i figured i might as well just work the stock one, i don't know if i should get 3.42 gears or 3.73 gears. And would a detroit locker help?

a locker isnt a spool, but its pretty F'ing close . It clunks a lot when you turn, I'd think that would get pretty annoying. Just get a fresh limited slip (aka posi) in there and some 3.42 gears and you should notice a big difference.

hmmm a locker on a daily driver. Fun Fun! I had 3:23s and went to 3:73s when I demolished my stock posi and saw a nice difference.

buy aftermarket axles from the likes of moser. get a complete rebuild kit, get 3.73 gears by motive or another reputable company, buy an aftermarket posi (limited slip and posi are interchangeable terms) because your stock one is junk, and get a reinforced girdle cover like one from T/A. that should give you a fairly bulletproof setup up to around 500-550 hp. after that its questionable. ive heard that if you road race your car then you want to stay away from detroit lockers as they can be quite unpredictable.
