Question 2nd gear syncro

"2nd gear synchro may be starting to go, as it will grind second, but only if you try to slam gears"

taken from an ad on TGO, if i were to purchase this car how much would it cost for a new synchro?

It may be cheaper to buy another trans to throw in just so you can drive it, then once the original trans is out, rebuild that yourself, shouldn't be too hard with a good shop manual and then either put that back in, and sell which ever one you dont use. I think a 5speed rebuild kit is around $200(dont quote me on that though), if a shop was to rebuild the trans, itd be around $750(thats what it cost me at least on my 86 non-wc T5 and i already had the trans out)
