Great progress and looking really nice. In this process, why did you not change the cam or some other internal parts. Just curious. Looks great.

didnt want to do anything major to the car. plus i figured the power increase over the ls1 and the fast intake and full exhaust should make it a pretty fun car for now. i just want to drive my car again lol.

Coming along beautifully. Im not much of a ls guy but I got 2 questions.
1.) does the ls motor mounts match up so you can just drop it in without welding in new mounts.
2.) can your struts handle the weight of the new motor ?

the ls1 and the lq9 are based off the same design. just the new one is cast instead of aluminum.
and we will find out lol.

I looked into getting a lq4 for my build and did some research and found out the the front struts will hold with stiffer springs but with stock springs and struts it will sag any where from .5-1inch in the front.
Dunno if you looked into the supporting mods of dropping the heavier iron block in or not but that's a little of what I found out.

did you have to drill and tap the block for the alt bracket bolt in front?
also make a lil more power with 5.3l heads on it.
don't forget to pull the crank spacer off the back other wise when you goto line up and pull the trans together it will shove the converter into the front pump and break it.
i got a set of 5.3l sittin around if interested pm me.
i just got done building a iron block 6.0l in my car, charged/methed
& of course all the bolt ons

i figured it would lower the front of the car a little. ill be getting suspension after im done and get the car running. not trying to break the bank to bad right now lol.
and i have not got around to tapping the one whole in the block for the alt bracket yet. im just leaving the motor mostly stock except for the fast intake and full exhaust.
also i have the t-56 in my car so i dont need to worry about breaking coverters or front pumps lol.(just rears)
