Thumbs down Plumber needed

My bathroom sink is clogged and we've tried the chemical drain cleaners but it doesn't seem to be working. Anyone on here a plumber? It'd be great if we didn't have to fork out a few hundred bucks to call someone out of the phonebook. Thanks

I'm in 07430 and I'd need it done asap. I've got it apart right above the bend and we have a snake but I just can't get anything out of it.

If nothing else is backed up in the house, and the trap under the sink is clear then the backup is most likely where the drain attaches to the main line. How much of the snake are you feeding into the drain?

You may have to go a good distance with the snake to clear it out. We just had that problem with our kitchen sink; everything else is flowing fine, but the kitchen was backing up. We wound up going in 15-20 feet with the snake to get it clear.

Yeah, I've got the snake in a little more than a foot (starting under the sink at the bend) but I'm hitting a point where the snake just isn't going any further, I'll have to just keep trying

Is yours the kind that attaches to the end of a drill? Those work pretty well. And just so I'm thinking straight, you took off the p-trap (little elbow thing) and are now going into the straight pipe in the wall?

I'm starting at the the elbow, I took off the pipe that connects it to the sink drain. It's not one that connects to the drill either, it's like a really long dipstick with something on the end
