car wont start. no spark (MSD)

well long story short is that i had to drive my car about 2 hours in the pouring rain. then the car sat in my garage for about two weeks. i tryied starting and it wouldnt start. it is getting fuel but there is no spark. so i pull the distributer cap and i see alot of rust on the mag pickup. so i pull it out and clean all the rust off. still no spark. now i swap coils. still no spark. i tested the MSD 6al box. i have 12v from the battery, 12v from ignition, and power going out to the coil. i read in the directions that if you use a jumper wire in the harness for the mag pickup it should spark every time you break the circiut. so i did that and it will spark at the coil but the distributer. so i replace the pickup sensor. still no spark. so now i put a new cap and rotor on it. still no spark. the weird thing is that every now and then it will spark but not enough to fire the engine. any help you be great. thanks alot

Try charging your battery 100%. Strange request but I had a very similar situation before and that's what cleared the issue up...

Nick (The Hammer) was having the same issue with his car just after a rain too. He disconnected the Mag pickup and it would turn and burp the motor, but wouldn't start. I cleaned the connections on the Mag pickup really well and the car started.
