anyone use those competition engineering rear shocks on their 98-02 fbodys? do they change the ride height? not worried too much about how they ride i just want my car do dead hook

They didn't change the ride height any noticeable amount on mine.

They shouldn't, because that would mean they are carrying load vs. dampening harmonics.

They work great for the price.. Just a little anoying if you want to change the setting on them.. I havent had them since I put them on my 98 back in 2003 but if its still the same then I had to unbolt the shock, Compress it, and then adjust the top to the setting.. Not hard to do just a little anoying at times.. If u keep it at the 50/50 setting all the time then you wont have to deal with that..

shocks should never effect ride height, unless they are air shocks.. bc if they do that means they are not doing their job, that means they are too tall and will bottom out..

what kind of suspension do you have on the car now? bc just shocks alone wont make you dead hook, these cars dont have much in weight transfer to the rear with the stock suspension..
if your looking for good hook you need a good set of springs, control arms(preferably with relocation brackets for the rear) a good torque arm, and a good set of tires..

right now it's stock, but i'm getting ready to get a umi adjustable torque arm and lower control arms with the adjustable panhard bar, and i have bfg drag radials but am probably going to switch to m/t et streets
