mtnhopper, I'll see your Alfa Romeo and Lancia, and raise you with a:

Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Roadster ( Mille Miglia)

And a 1984 Ferrari GTO:

I was looking for a 84 GTO picture that was good...man what a fantastic car.

If its Italian, it's probably pretty good looking.

I agree, one of the last beatufilly penned Ferrari's. Enzo must be rolling in his grave to see flappy paddle boxes, E-control ( electronic assistance) for anything you do so you never really experience the purpose and design of the ferrari, and no longer the goal of why Ferrari was so successful, to design cars that actually looked as good as they went fast instead of playing it safe with the 3-D CAD software.
People today buy Ferrari's today because of the name, instead of it's heritage. Walk up to any body today who owns one, and ask what Ferrari made them want to buy one, more then likely they will say either the dreadful 512 Testarossa, or Enzo....both Post El Commendatore

(Before I am corrected about the Testarossa, yes they were made in 1984, but the 512 TR started in 1992)

I'm down with those picks, too.

However, I think the Mille Miglia is a bit too "racecar" (period-correct, of course). It's sexy, but in a too-skinny-too-much-makeup-supermodel sort of way. I want it because I feel like I'm supposed to. With the fear of taking the analogy too far: I feel like I'd finish before the action started.

The curves of the Touring Roadster seem a little more fleshy and voluptuous. This is the kind of hot, wet, drippy, sexy that lasts for hours so that you end up tearing the sheets off the bed halfway through because they're soaked.

Too far?

The 288 GTO is a great looking car. It's sexy because I know what it can do, kinda like the 037. For my tastes, it looks too much like a 308, and 308s are too common to be sexy.

You are correct, the 288 GTO is derived from the 308 chassis, but was intended for Group B sports car racing mainly/only, and was only produced to meet the minimum production numbers to compete. It's ashame it never ran in anger, BUT, it was the test bed for the F40,and we all know how that all turned out

I miss the days when Ferrari took race cars seriously.

Speaking of 308s, I'd personally like to get a Dino GT4. Totally not sexy by any means, but it has that late 70s early 80s wedge sports car vibe that some of us (cough) old (cough) folks (cough) grew up lusting after. I've seen nice ones in the $20K range. Plus, it has a back seat, which is also a bonus for us old folks.

Speaking of 70s Italians ...

The Montreal is such a yacht, it's cool to see in rally trim.

Oh, and then there's the Stradale 33:

I'd say that qualifies as sexy.

You and me both. Their heads are so far up their asses with Formula 1, who knows when we'll see another serious overall Le Mans effort from them....

I love every angle of the Montreal, except for one, the headlights, they failed on that, which the French seem to be good at screwing up a perfect body design somewhere lol. If you put your thumb over the front, the body to me resembles a Miura that's been given a higher roof line.

See first post of thread. I don't know what it is about the body, maybe the blacked out mesh on the vents, the way the wheel arches make the body flare out, and yet looked chocked full of those delicious rims. I preferthe bronze/magnesium colored rims myself, or the 2.0 V8 that screams to 9200 RPM.
GOD DAMN IT, WHAT HAPPEN TO THE ART OF THE AUTOMOTIVE WORLD!!???

That's funny. I totally missed that. I couldn't see the pics in the initial post at work and skimmed the post a bit too fast. Great pic.

That's a good one, too. Actually, I'd add the C type to the list.

Good one. With all the Italian love going on earlier (and the apparent italian influence of this car; i.e. early Alfa and Bugatti racecars), it's fitting that the license plate says "Roma 3".

Street version doesn't really do anything for me, but I never saw one in GT3 trim. That's pretty freakin' cool.

That makes me wonder... pro touring vintage euro sports cars?? I've seen the random old VW or Volvo with the pro touring treatment, and Posies did that Jag E-Type a few years ago. Have you ever seen someone do an old morgan or MG (TD or TF, I mean), or something like that? I don't mean vintage racecar. I mean modern pro touring.

Might as well post the other sexy gems from Ralph Lauren's collection, since we already have the 8C Mille Miglia and the SSK Trossi.

Bugatti 57s Atlantic:

Ferrari 375 Plus

Jaguar XKD (this one gets my vote for "fish car")

Jaguar XKSS (yes, also looks like a fish, but McQueen drove one. That has to count for something)

Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa (Two words; the 512 is cool but this is the REAL testa rosa IMHO - sorry guys)

'31 8C 2300 Monza (Not sure this qualifies as sexy, but I'm partial to alfas and..., well..., its a race car)

Yea, back in like 2001 or 2003 or something, Morgan actually brought one of those to Le Mans!! it was a De Walt sponsored thing so a bright yellow pre war shaped car running with modern race cars, you couldn't miss it.

That C-Type is a sweet shape, but is almost always overshadowed by the D-Type, so it never gets the much desrerved love that it should. Steve Earle, who used to run the Vintage racing events ( Laguna Seca/Lime Rock) had one, and racedthe hell out of it, and wasent afraid to get it side ways lol. It's a real same my computer at home is full of so many viruses I can't get online, because I have a treasure trove of photo to post on here.

EDIT: Found a couple photos from our museum:
Jaguar C-Type ( Steve Earle's)

Lotus Type 79:

Ferrari 312PB:

Corvette Grand Sport:

Maserati 450S

Ok, some love for the 'mericans, since this is Camaro site, after all.

1963 Grand Sport (A very angry shark)

Shelby Daytona - the one with a Ford engine, not that other one.

'69 L-88 Corvette

And finally,
1967 Z28, in Penske-Godsall livery, of course.
