starting issue

Still chasing this start issue. On the third new starter. 2011 v6 auto. It randomly wont start. Battery is good. Will start fine, drive around go to the bank, will start fine again, go somewhere else. Won't start, sometimes 2 hours later it will start, other times not till sometime the next day. car has 50k miles.

Any ideas?

This starter is the biggest PITA to keep changing.

Thanks,
Tim

Won't start as in the starter doesn't crank? Slow crank? Or it cranks and cranks and doesn't start?

How do you know the battery is good? Tested it with a load tester?

Battery is new. tested good to go. It does nothing, no crank. Everything else is normal. Every time we go trouble shoot it, its like it knows and starts.

I have gotten stuck 4 times. it does it randomly. wont do it for a month or so then itll do it almost everyday, them its fine again.

Hook up test light in car or outside of windshield. Run one wire to the small terminal on the starter relay other wire to ground. When you go to crank the starter the test light should light up. When the problem occurs and the test light does not light it is the ignition switch. If the test light lights up then it is either the starter relay or battery. Happy hunting!

when it doesnt start do you ever jump it to see if it starts up?

have you messed with anything else under the hood? maybe you knocked loose wire or a ground strap?
