My New Bird
just got back from Pittsburgh a few hours ago and I'm a lil disappointed with the car, but maybe thats cuz i was used to my old car the dude was a dick, the car was dirty as **** and had no gas in it.....
i was wondering how hard it would be to add in all the monsoon sound system **** to my car since it has like no options. these are the things that I eventually wanna add in: Keyless entry (and possibly remote start), Monsoon Head Unit, Monsoon speakers (or atleast the woofers in the back), 6 or 12 disc cd changer, and steering wheel controls (i assume i'd have to get the steering wheel that already has these built in)
i figured all the monsoon stuff shouldmt be that hard cuz id just have to swap out the head unit and add in 2 subs. the guy said he tried to put a keyless entry system and remote start in it but it wouldnt work cuz the resistor chip thats in out keys.
i could prolly get most of this stuff from a junkyard wouldnt u think??

well first off those speakers all the way in the back dont do jack crap... and if he tried and failed to install a keyless entry then I fear for your future wiring and ignition problems...

what do you need a cd changer for? you only listen to one at atime... and you can load one at a time into the HU

actually brando every single thing you just said was wrong. and when i mean wrong, i mean everything you said, take the opposite of it, and you have the correct answer.
1. the 4" speakers in the hatch suck and are better left unplugged.
2. they produce only high notes, opposite to a sub as you stated.
3. heres where you actually are kinda right. they are noticable, noticably ******. they are not more useful then the speakers in the doors or the sails.
if you were happy with the stock monsoon system, buy Noah's system and be happy. its not the best solution but if it makes you happy then do it.

Well Brandon, if you wanna buy the monsoon dash unit, amp, and wiring off me, u can get good speakers for the system... Infiniti makes a good 2ohm speaker thatll fit in the doors + sail panels, which is basically what will work without sounding like crap.

yea i think i might just do that, i was listenin to bush on my way to home depo and i had sixteen stone cranked up real loud while was puttin my t-tops on and i was like wow these stock speakers are horrible!
if i was to get new door speakers (mids (?) and tweeters... im not an audio geek) would i have to get the new map pocket panel thingys since the map pockets are alot shorter since i dont have the monsoon setup and the speakers are just in the door panel??
also how much would all this run me?? (2 in each door, and 1 sub in each sail and maybe 1 in each trunk panel) at the least i wanna replace the door speakers cuz they are the worst

it'd be easier for me to put them in the sails then in the trunk cuz i dont want a box back there and i wouldnt have to cut the trunk panels

you can't fit a damn box in the sails. unless you custom make one to sit on top fo the frame rail, that's the only semi good-soundign result I can possibly think of
