Am I missing something? Cost of linelock?

So my linelock is acting up. It's about 9 years old. I was planning to either rebuilding or just replace it, but I notice something VERY odd

You can buy the Solenoid (just the Solenoid) for $170.

Or a kit: Solenoid, activation button, fuse holder, fuse and mounting screws for $95

So what logic is behind that? I tried calling Hurst to verify if they are the same units, hung up after being on hold for 20 minutes.

1) Build it
2) Race it
3) Break it
4) Repeat!!!

I bought the cheapest solenoid I could find, it was around $30-40 shipped on ebay, and used my own adapters. Its been flawless. Does the kit come with the same hurst noid? I know they are supposed to be rebuildable but for the cost of a cheap one, why bother?

agreed on that, summit has some cheaper ones for like $40 and they all have the same size inlet/outlet
plus summit takes like 2 days to arrive

Thank you.

But how odd is that?

I'll probably start with a rebuild kit. I think what is happening is that the unit is not fully releasing and the brake light stays on, sometimes for a few minutes, last time it did not go off and there is slight pressure in the lines. I can spin the front wheels, but need a bit more force then normal. I bleed the brakes and all is good, until I use the line lock again.

I would rather do the hurst since my lines are bult for that unit, the other look like the ports are in different locations.
