How to eliminate window rattling

In my quest to eliminate the dreaded f-body window rattle, I took apart the passenger side door panel and removed the speaker for more access.

I noticed when the window was lowered all the way down I could grab the bottom of the window with my hand and easily move it back and forth.

I had an idea to take a piece of radiator hose and install it at the bottom of the door to hold the glass.

I used two pieces of hose about 3'' long and some permatex black silicone.

I cleaned the area inside the door and also the hose with some acetone (alcohol could also be used).
With the window all the way down I marked the two places where the hose would be.

Looking through the speaker hole there is a white plastic bracket at the bottom of the glass the first piece of hose was glued under it.

The second piece was glued by the access hole by the door jam side.

Let the silicone fully dry before closing window completely.
Now when the window is fully opened it doesn't bounce around it is locked and loaded. The hose also acts like a spring when the window is opened.

My car already has a rubber piece at the bottom of the door for the window to stop/rest on when it's open. It looks like yours is missing? Good idea though and write-up. I know where I'm going if my rubber piece disappears ha.

Just did my drivers side door. I noticed this window bottomed out on the door. Who ever upgraded the speaker only installed one screw to hold it in place so I added three more. I also covered all the door handle and lock rods with vacuum hose to quiet them down. My door handle was also loose causing a rattle. It is held on by two sheet metal nuts which needed to be tightened. I noticed a difference in sound just when I close the door now but I haven't had a chance to take it for a ride with the windows down because of all this rain lately.

Finally had a chance to take the car for a ride with the windows down today.
I found every bump I could find in the road and I have to say the difference is amazing.
