Quick Question
My ac doesnt work....can i just take off the belt? its a ls1 5.7

No from what I recall you have to by an ac delete pulley because you have one belt for all accessories

LS1's have a seperate belt for the AC system. i took the belt off on the vette over the winter cuz one of the pulleys was bad, fixed it in the spring

You can it is a separate belt on those motors. did the compressor seize?

a knife will be quicker so you dont have to take the main serpentine off

It does have its own tensioner but the belt is routed behind the main belt
Hence the cutting it to remove it instead of taking the main belt off
