shotgun folk near sussex nj step in

Hey guys,

I few years back I shot clays at a spot near Sussex. It was an open field, No fee an you tossed your own clays. I know its a long shot and not very specific but I cannot find this place an was hoping someone knew where I was talking about.

One place in Vernon that I know of is cherry ridge range, off canistear road in Vernon.

There is also http://www.thundermt.com/ in Ringwood nj, for rifle shooting.

thanks for the replies, i know it wasn't cherry ridge or thunder mountain. It was not privately owned and it was nothing more than an open field.

on a side note, yes it was a legal legitimate place to shoot lol

Down by tuckerton there is a shotgun and muzzle loader range which is a field just like you are describing except nowhere near north jersey

there is a place in Clinton I normally go. it's right by the diner that's in a train can on 78, I forget the exit

haha, i actually went to that one recently. It is exactly like that but 40 minutes from me and not 2 hours lol

yea, the one in cinton is part of the state parks. i know you can shoot clays tehre, i have twice.. but i think that one person in your group is required to ahve a valid hunting license in order to use the property.. my friend did and heis the one who would always lead the trip.. if it is a state acility, try giving a call or looking it up online.. but yes, its litereally a minute off of rt 78 near exit 13

The one in Clinton is exit 13 I believe. It is actually on rt 173 and is State Game Land. You need one person with a valid NJ hunters license and can shoot clays. There is also a shotgun/muzzle loader shooting range up the street from there also.
